Left Holidaysburg 7 ½ A.M. assended 3 inclined planes perpendicular height 1396. Ft which is the elevation of the Allegheny s. Numerous coal mines abound here of great richness; traveled this afternoon by canal; whole number of locks 172 – 6 feet each amounting to an elevation of 1032 feet.
