A La Carte Curriculum Guide

The Curriculum Guide contains more than 120 inquiry-based activities which can be stand alone lessons or clustered to create larger units of study. Each lesson focuses on one or more primary source and is organized using the Stripling Model of Inquiry.

The Guide is organized into
five themes:


Chapter 1 – Seeking Self- Reliance: Discovering Life on New England Farms

Chapter 2 – Defining Home: Examining Clues to Community, Church, and Care-giving

Chapter 3 – In Pursuit of Citizenship: Scrutinizing 19th Century Laws, Civil Rights & Education

Chapter 4 – Investigating Innovation: Curse or Cure?

Chapter 5 – Historical Forensics: Intentionally Informing Futures
